Dedicated to my teacher and friend Avi Schönfeld
The heart beats, tears flow, leafs that palpitate
In winds where oceans vanish ‘n mistery.
As agonized craves for freedom cry belate,
Doth darkness blind the soul in misery.
Abiding in that world, a ten’brous world,
I cling to that star, that vaguely penetrates
That sable haze that shrouds sweet splendor. Bold
The eye doth not see, but that what sustains.
O, thou magnificent star that’s kindl’d my dream
With hope! Where’s thy attractive luminous scent?
O bring thy majestic gleam once more, redeem
My world in gloom so lost without relent!
My light is there where winds do go in dreams,
Behold where oceans flow, there fall my beams!
